Thanks, my GF just got a new P&S camera and I can give this to her to use as a spare card. ^ :-:

I just got a few at a similar price from woot. The ones I got were actually mini (or micro)-SD with the adapter. They are so ridiculously slow that I won't use them in any digital camera. It just isn't worth it for that. Not bad for some other uses, I guess. Maybe an expansion slot for an MP3 player or a Kindle. But not good for a camera.

You can't just base quality/speed on price. These are Kingston cards, and Kingston certainly has a good reputation in this area.

They do have a good quality record in my experience, but they also have a full spectrum of card speed, and I'm sure this is the slowest of the bunch. The data was hard to find, but it looks like 1.5Mbps write speed - 10x in a world of 133-200x cards. It may be enough for some functions, but I wouldn't use them for a camera.

I like them for the P&S cameras. Have a bunch and use one every couple of days to spread out the pics in case one goes bad.

I'm not saying that the cards of a low quality, only that they are very slow and less than reasonable for my needs in a digital camera. When it takes 5+ seconds to save an image off to the card, slowing my ability to take more photos that is too slow for me. Image review and copying off to my computer are similarly slow. I'd much rather pay the extra few dollars and get a card with better performance specs for my cameras. As I said before, there are uses in which the speed is less important and these cards should be fine for that, but I don't like them for cameras.

Most cameras have a buffer that can store multiple pictures while writing to the memory card, meaning that you can still take pictures. I trust that your camera has a write buffer, yes?

I'm sure it does, but I know that the performance was way worse with one of those cards in my camera than with a card I paid $15 for. I think that the extra $10 is a worthwhile investment.
