TWA FFB/Aviators - "Match your Aviator and AAdvantage accounts"

I just went to the AA Web site with the intention of shifting my Aviator miles into my AAdvantage account. The option for doing so seems clear enough: "exchange your Aviators miles for AAdvantage miles."

But there is also an option: "Click here to match your Aviator and AAdvantage accounts". I have been puzzling over this for a while and I cannot come up with the slightest conception of what it might mean. I am very surprised to find something so incomprehensible on a major Web site. I don't want to try out the option in case it does something I don't like. Is there someone out there who could tell me what it means, please?

Pete -- Actually, all it asks you to do is to verify exact spelling of your name and address on both accounts, so there would be no discrepancies. Nothing sinister... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

And provided your accounts "match", your Aviator miles will be transferred to AAdvantage within the next few days automatically anyways.

Eugene, An awesomely quick and precise response! Thank you so much. Will go right off and match'em.
