American Express Membership Rewards - how to stop enter and exit noise/notes at website?

To attempt to reduce paper mail offers, I changed account preferences at AmericanExpress.com. Now, when I visit the site or leave it, there is sound, a few notes. This isn't something I chose, and it wasn't happening before and I'd like to stop it. It feels very invasive!
I used 'contact us' , have had no reply.
Ideas?
Firefox, Windows XP, I have all my Windows sounds turned off.
Thanks,
Sylvia

Try the mute button in the right hand bottom corner, maybe the site will store a cookie in your browser and no longer play this quick welcome song kinda thing. I think Amex just put that on there to give you an additional security feature or something. Not that scammer couldn't play the same sound

Detailing floppy82: when I brought up the home page, there was a "Mute Music" icon (looks like a grey speaker / microphone at the bottom of the screen, just right of center). The icon disappears once one has logged in, though.

Here's how I got rid of it:
After logging out, I clicked on the grey Speaker icon on the bottom right of the page. It changed to *mute* and that seems to have done the trick.
I can't figure out why AMEX even bothered adding that *feature*.

I thought it was sonic branding.

Before I read floppy82's suggestion, I had called AmEx. I was told to turn off my speakers! Then I asked for a supervisor, ... Apparently this is a new feature!
I never look at the home pages of American Express. I have the site bookmarked, my eye goes to the log in box on the left, it would have taken my a very very long time to find that little mute button.
Which does permanently turn off the sound.
But now HP is alerting me that I can look for updates! And both of these with all XP sound features off.
It feels less and less like "my" computer!
I appreciate the help.

Thank you so much. As one who often logged in late at night, that welcoming music was a giant pain to me and a possible wake-up alarm to any family members sleeping.
