TWA FFB/Aviators - TWA MILES TO BECOME AADVANTAGE MILES
Shortly after TWA was taken over by AA, I wrote to TWA and asked if our miles would be changed over to Aadvantage miles and got a message telling me that it would be done automatically (mile for mile)soon. To date they have not been changed over and my husband and I have accounts with both airlines. Has anyone had theirs changed over yet? This would help to build up our miles on American for an anticipated trip. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Just go to www.aa.com. (http://www.aa.com.) You can match your accounts and move the miles over at the same time. Or call the Aadvantage service center and they will do it for you over the phone. Just make sure that you don't want to use the TWA miles first (e.g., for the 15,000 short-hop coach award, which American does not have, or one of the Latin America awards). Otherwise it will be done automatically at the end of next month.

Nanjo:
IF you haven't received a direct mail from American yet - they probably didn't match up your accounts electronically based on address/name data in both programs. Best bet is to call Aviators or AAdvantage customer service to ensure the accounts are matched up. Or, visit AA.com and link yourself. Once the miles are exchanged, you can't put them back to Aviators. If you have "linked" your accounts but haven't moved early, they'll be moved automatically sometime after Aviators shuts down - my guess is early December 2001. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

AAdvantage reservations can do this as well. Important the addresses match. Process take anywhere from 1 to 10 minutes
