Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - In-flight Phone quality in new biz?

Has anyone tried using the in-flight telephone service in the new business class? I am flying HKG-JFK on a 777-300ER next week and will need to join a meeting that I can't reschedule outside of the time that I will be in the air. How is the voice quality? Dropped calls? Signal delay? Do people on the other end complain of background noise?

Haha wow, you're going to be the most hated guy on the plane.

You will probably also be the most hated person on the conference call - I have never tried it, but I imagine the background noise won't be soft.

You know the cost of the call is something like USD 8 per minute?

Several years ago, I had a conference call of about 20 people. A person joined the conference from the air. Not a terrible. But he wasn't active speaker in the conference. We didn't mind background noise.

i can't understand why people can't wait or postpone meetings that are so critical like these. I figure if this meeting is so important for me to attend then you can wait for me to finish my trip at least. Or have someone stand in.. haha..
