if I choose say United miles is it 500 miles per stay or per night stayed? so lets say I booked 4 nights in the same hotel do i get 500 miles or 2000?

Right now there is a Double Points/Miles promo, so if your stay is before 2/7/2009, you will earn 1000 United miles per stay, as long as you register for the promotion.

Depending on how much you expect to spend, it may be wiser to earn Wyndham Rewards Points and then convert them to miles on various airlines (including United). Points can be converted to miles at the following ratios :
8000 points = 3200 miles
17500 points = 7000 miles
30000 points = 12000 miles
With the current double points promotion, you will earn 8000 points for spending $400, (normally 10 points per dollar, with promo it's 20 points per dollar) so be sure to do the math and see what works better for you, earning miles or points.
