As many of you know, I'll be moving to Vegas pretty soon. For the locals, which casino brands offer the best all around awards? As a vacationer, I've usually stayed at Excalibur (as that's where I first started playing & they send me free rooms there). My current address with the casino's is in VA. If I change my address to a Vegas address (with the casinos), does that qualify me for better comp opportunities? Or does my non-LAS address work out better in my favor if I'm going to be gambling in Vegas (after I move there, I imagine about once a month or so or whenever visitors come to town).

Right now, I use MGM's & Total Rewards (I've cashed out all of my Total Rewards points last time I was in Tunica though, so I'm at a zero balance right now) primarily. Open to suggestions.

Thanks!

It would help if you mentioned what you typically like to play, i.e. slots, video poker, etc.

Locals may want to chime in on their favorite programs. I'm sure there is a certain baccarat player ;) who will chime in on the benefits of Harrahs. If you plan on playing regularly, consider doing a Diamond in a Day at Harrahs to get Diamond status.

Well, I am a Pai Gow poker player but really like Harrahs Total Rewards. Its good all over the country and very transparent. The old systems you had no idea what you had. you would go the the awards booth and hope you had enough for a hot dog. Not anymore.

I believe the station casinos (Green Valley Ranch etc) cater to locals.

My main games are roulette, blackjack, and craps. I'm not big into slots, but when I do play them (rarely), I'll play the dollar slots with a $20.

I'll take the don't pass line on that bet for locals!

I'd go with Mr. Vker, or look at Hard Rock/Palms, Sam's Town or the new Cannery properties.

If you're a local, you should use a local address. Where will you be living?

Heading out there on the 28th for a week to start work & look at potential rental houses...looking at North Las Vegas area right now. I don't need anything fancy - just a 3 bed/2bath with a decent sized yard & preferable a garage at this point.

You may want to consider playing at the Station or downtown properties, then. Depending on exactly where you end up, you'll probably have some good choices.
