Just got this as part of my September statement.

Frontier is going GREEN!

plastic membership cards discontinued

We have elected to save a few trees by discontinuing the printing and mailing of EarlyReturns membership cards. As long as you have entered your EarlyReturns number into your reservation, your boarding pass will indicate your status.

If you'd like, you can alwaysprint your own EarlyReturns membership card from our web site:
1. Login to your EarlyReturns account
2. Select Update My Profile on the left-hand navigation
3. Select Print EarlyReturns card

Thats funny, got a new Summitt card (Plastic) and luggage tag this week in mail. Man thats Green. Maybe since they devalued the Early returns program they sent me plastic to make up for it.

So how is one supposed to get through the premier line at security without a card? I don't think they'll believe me if I just show them some sort of printout off my computer on plain paper!

Status is printed on your boarding pass, and yes, in my experience they always accept what you present, even if it's "printed off your computer".

I guess my point was for when I'm not flying F9, hence no status on boarding pass.

PDX and SEA have never accepted a "printout" a boarding pass works but I use my southwest card for F9 flights. No Clear Lines there...............

So you're saying that when I go to STL in December and have my F9 boarding pass that I can show my AA gold card and go through the special line? I never tried that.

Had a full fare ticket on NWA once that was booked literally hours before departure. They told me at the desk that it was a preferred booking and I could use the first class lane. The TSA clown wouldn't let me through and threatened further action if I didn't accept her word on the issue. I didn't have time to argue if I had to wait in line, but I did report her on the other side for being very rude. So, as you can see, I have my doubts.

I used my United card before I had Frontier status when I was in a hurry. I don't know whether this matches the rules but to your point, the TSA people look whether you have a matching card from any airline and let you go in without checking your boarding pass in detail.

I've used my Frontier card going through the FF lanes in DEN when I was flying United, and only have 2P status (DEN UA says 1P or higher). Never had a problem, though it's probably just luck of the draw. Actually the A-Gates bridge at Denver has elite security lines which never even used to check for ID, they just dumped you at the front of the regular lines.

I took F9's offer for the free Clear card and now I don't worry about these things, but I know some people object to that program.

Let me just say, so that nobody is uncertain.

I LOVE CLEAR!!!!

I've had it every since I moved to DEN. Talk about an easy way to get through security. I've gotten quite a few dirty looks when the clear agents take my bins and deposit them in front of someone taking off their shoes. Had one guy in MCO have a little fit because I "butted" in line. The Clear agent put him in his place.

Funny enough, 9 times out of 10 when I fly, the regular lanes aren't long at all, but I still use it anyway. But that one time when I need to get through in a hurry it helps. Plus, I don't have to plan for an hour in line, I can just plan for 15 minutes max.

I'll have to try my AA gold card when I fly home this winter. It won't be on AA since they dropped their direct DEN flight. It will probably be on UAL, which might be interesting since security for UAL and AA are in different location in STL.
