Unionized pilots at Trans States Airlines say they'll strike at 3 pm Friday, unless a contract agreement can be reached before then.

Trans States Airlines flies in Peoria, Bloomington, Springfield and the Quad Cities as TWA commuter affiliate TW Express. It’s central Illinois’ most heavily used airline.

Trans State also flies to a bunch of other places as TWE. For example, one of the many reasons I don't fly TWA from Madison is that our service is through TWE. Every experience I've had with TWE has been "eventful" in some way.

Of course, our AA service is provided by American Eagle, our Delta service is provided by Comair, our United service is provided by United Express, and our Continental service is provided by Continental Express. Even Midwest Express splits service between their own planes and Skyway, and one of Northwest's daily flights is operated by Mesaba.

Will this effect regular TWA flights?

MrClyde,

The strike was averted and both sides settled.

There will be no interruption to TWA, Delta or United flights because of TSA.

United, on the other hand, seems to be cancelling enough of their own flights without any help from TSA. I'm glad I don't rely on that airline.
