AFAIK start date has not been announced other than later this year. Earning rate is likely to be low.

I don't know how... but I got the impression that this was going to be a sort of "EQM v RDM" type thing.... Counting for status but not "redeemable"..

Of course just HOW they could manages a system like that (without major changes) beats me!:D

me i am comfirtable with that as it recognizes loyalty which is all i ask, becuase i see the situation often where people for example self employed where price is a factor but they choose to support NZ but get no recignition for it. Anyway i think they need to do this as when times get tought WE support the airline!

I agree with Rich. I take a large number of domestic flights on smart saver fares each year with NZ and get no recognition for it unlike most other airlines. Will be looking forward to these new changes, whenever they come out.

I await further details

On the website it suggests that the points will contribute to NZ GE and G but what about NZ*S and *A partners

I will be surprised if, for me, it will be sufficient to offset the 1000 minimum miles on QF flights

I hope they do offer EQM for *A members. NZ had always seemed to be there or there abouts on prices from LHR to HK or NZ, but out of principle I simply cannot sit on a plane for that amount of time and not get any miles for it.

Which is a shame, as I hear that NZ is one of the better airlines in Y

I believe, as said above, that you will receive points which count towards tier status but not Airpoints for Smart Saver fares.
At the end of a year you could have achieved Gold or Gold Elite, but theoretically have no Airpoints Dollars for redemption.

You can you just need to join NZ Airpoints and you will get Airpoints Dollars for any long haul flight in NZ Y. However as you are aware if flying on the lowest saver fares in long haul you will not get any points or miles credited to *A FFPs.
