Hilton HHonors - Diamonds: What color is your card?

AGS

Maybe everyone knows this, but I don't.

I'm HHonors Gold, so my card is gold colored. But, as diamond is not a color, a Diamond card cannot be diamond colored. So, what color is a Diamond HHonors card?

I know, you would have thought I'd have seen one somewhere at a Hilton, but I've led a sheltered life.

Thanks,
AGS

My 'card' isn't a card at all. It's an actual diamond. A big, flat diamond. Really impresses them at the front desk.

Are they reissuing the diamond cards or did something just happen to trigger getting a new card? I still have my pearl colored card.

I would call mine pearl or dirty white. Overall it is not anything to brag about.

The new cards are black. I just got a black one a week ago with a March 2010 expiration. The old pearl one had an April 2009 expiration.

Black, exp 07/09 for some reason, was expecting to see 03/10. Maybe another one will appear with a later date on it???

White, though I've had mine for about a year. I think exp is April 2009.

A Hilton lady lives in my building and here's how the cards work. There are old ones and new ones in circulation. Hilton has a couple of inventory houses world wide - and they are working through the old and new ones - so to get a new version of the card it depends on where it comes from.

Here is a listing of the new cards (all of them have photos on the front)

Diamond - -Black (with flares of light coming from a diamond)
Gold - Waves with golden sunset on them
Silver - Grey/Silver toned pebbles/polished stone
Blue - Blue water in pool with sunlight on it and palm shadows

I must stay at Hiltons too often...

My number is actually printed on a real diamond.

I have no idea as i haven't seen it in years. I keep a pile of mostly unopened mail from airline and hotels that looks like stuff I shouldn't throw out- so maybe it's in there- but in several years I have not needed, been asked for, or wished I had with me, my HH card. (BA is other story...)

I asked for a new one after my "white" DIA card got sent to me, as the new ones should be black... got a new one which was white again ...

Did you honestly mean to type Two Thousand Twelve? ... rather than 2010. If so, curious as to basis for two more years of status than would be expected.

Yes, I did. When I received my Diamond card earlier this year, the letter thanked me and said that in recognition of 10 years of maintaining my Diamond status, they were extending my status for three years to 2012.

I don't know if was a one shot deal, or a continuing benefit. I'll let you know in 2012.

White paper

I was sent my new card with the 4/2010 Diamond but all that was in the envelope was the piece of paper saying here is your new card.

I never use them so I'm not going to even call to request a new one.

It's kind of a shiny pearl color, with black lettering. A vast improvement over the previous one with white lettering that was difficult to read. Currently shows an expiry of 04/2009, but with the change from revolving tier qualification back to nights in a year, who knows what the next one will look like (or what color).

I just clicked on the link for a replacement card on the Hilton web page and got the new black card, exp. 3/10.

I've still got the "dirty white" card - the Hilton Honnors is in Silver lettering and the member info is in black. Exp is 4/09 so I'm guessing I won't get the black one for a while.

Hope the Black one is durable - the printing on mine is fading and its less than a year old. If that black one is supposed to last until 2010.....

My new card is black with a few flashes of colour-quite appropriate-to me it represents a diamond in the dark.
My old card was white/pearl colour with a black bar on top-I took it as meaning this fellow is barred from upgrades.
Since I have had my new card I am 4 from 4 for upgrades so maybe there is something in this.

Seven years ago I received my first Hilton diamond card.
I knew what it was when it arrived in the mail even before I opened up the envelope. It was as it is today Pearl colored and in a fancy envelope with rice paper over the top of it. I wish I got as excited about that silly card as about other things.
