Hilton HHonors - Can you cancel after early check-in??

Can you cancel after early check-in, without paying, I mean!!

I have a reservation that I can cancel "up to 6 PM on day of arrival."
If I do an early check-in the day before, via "my account" on the Hilton web site, and then get delayed the following day, can I still cancel this
particular reservation without incurring a day's stay fee??

On the topic of 'early automatic check in'... does anyone know if a Mattress Run can be done with this type of check in ?? (I.E.- you auto check in from home/office, but don't technically /physically arrive at the property) ;)
