Also depends what you normally redeem miles for, on which carrier.
For example, CX R/T upgrade from Y to J for LAX-PVG is 80,000 AsiaMiles.
On AA, same upgrade would be 50,000 AAdvantage miles PLUS $600
co-pay (going up to $700 Oct 1, 2008).

CX R/T upgrade from Y to J for LAX-PVG is 70,000 AsiaMiles.

Correction: CX R/T upgrade from Y to J for LAX-PVG is 80,000 miles, also assuming Y/B/H/K fare class, and seat availability.

Yes, absolutely right. The problem is that the "7" key is right next to the "8"
key on the keyboard.:D

And in Y or B booking classes the upgrade with AAdvantage miles will be 30,000 miles and no co-pay
