I am planning to Korea and probably will fly HKG-ICN & then back PUS-HKG. If I use asia miles to upgrade my Y ticket to C, are these 2 legs considered as a return upgrade or 2 single one-way upgrade.

AFAIK, CX and KA upgrades cannot be issued as one award, and only CX flies HKG-ICN and only KA flies PUS-HKG. FrankieTse Sep 8, 08, 10:23 pm Thanks. Probably I need to book 2 one-way upgrades instead. Will you book 2 return upgrades with 70K miles plus 2 Y tickets at around US$960 total or 2 C award tickets with 100K miles? Rejuvenated Sep 8, 08, 10:40 pm I've done open Jaw mileage upgrade from J to F twice. Once it was going HKG-LHR returning CDG-HKG and another time it was HKG-CDG outbound and returning LHR-HKG. LHR & CDG ex-HKG both fell under the same Zone D. So mines both times were calculated as HKG-Zone D roundtrip. But as said this only applies if both sectors are with CX. tedhl Sep 10, 08, 8:43 am if I remember right even routes like HKG-LHR/LAX-HKG can be issued as roundtrip upgrade - I think the rule is something like, as long as LHR-LAX is shorter than HKG-LHR and LAX-HKG...then it can be regarded as an open-jaw. but I'm not 100% sure on this - so just FYI. |
