You can earn double stays between now and November 9, 2008.

http://SPG.com/AccentureDouble

NOTE: Only for Accenture employees. SPG does check the elegibility via email verification.

Stays count double through November 9, 2008.

To thank you for your continued loyalty as a valued Accenture customer, Starwood Preferred Guest® would like to help you earn elite status more quickly. Register by September 30, 2008, and each eligible stay between now and November 9, 2008, will be credited as two. For example, if you stay three times, you'll receive credit for six stays toward elite status. It's just our way of saying thanks for your continued business.

How will you fake an Accenture-Email Adress?

Who says I need to fake it? ;)

Hmm, replacing "Accenture" with my employer's name in the linked URL gives:

"This Starwood Preferred Guest Promotion has Expired."

Bugger! :(

Interesting. When I changed "ACCENTURE'" with my company's name, it still bounced back to the Accenture promo.

You can fake an email with most POP mail programs. However, since it sounds like a verification occurs you wouldn't actually be able to RECEIVE a verification email to validate it. So I don't see how a non-Accenture employee could illicitly take advantage of this.

... anyway. I think all valid information is useful information.
E.g. in this case I forwarded this to a friend who was unaware of this promotion
and is working for the company. Thanks for the info

Presuming this is the same as the one SPG has going for my employer at the moment, the "email verification" does involve them sending you an email to your corporate address, which contains a link that you need to click on to confirm the registration.

ie, unless you've got a real company email address in the relevant domain then this isn't going to work.

For what it's worth, the email address doesn't need to match your SPG email address - mine was different, but it still worked.

My firm (which competes with AC in some parts of the market) had the same a few months back. Looks like a quarterly promo that rotates the eligible companies. I topped off my PLT renewal with it.

You did not ask for the SET Code, leiterk did. ;) Assuming that he does not know the SET Code it appears likely that his adress is not an Accenture adress, isn't it?

I do know the SET code as I am an Accenture employee... I would like to remind anyone thinking of putting that code down that it would be a violation of our internal code of conduct. Accenture takes this extremely seriously and the reprecussions can be severe.

Given our tremendous volume of corporate-wide travel, we are able to negotiate extremely generous rates and concessions from Starwood. Speaking for the company, we would not want to jeopardize that relationship over a community message board... no matter how much I use and appreciate Flyer Talk.

I suppose a clever Google search would find it, or a simple call to reservations would reveal it. Also, if someone was to use that code it would be a matter between the hotel and the guest [to prove it], and no matter between the guest and Accenture, right?

Presumably you are correct although I think that having one of our own employees post it on a community message board would be against our own internal code of conduct.

Ironically, it would potentially benefit Accenture as our discount is based on volumes which are tracked back to the # of reservations referencing our SET code. All that said, we are asked to keep those codes, along with our discounts with airlines and rental cars, private and only for direct employee use.

I know the policy may not sound fair to some but it is a guideline for our business and one we are expected to follow. So like a good “corporate soldier” I follow the policies. Well I suppose it’s that and the general fear of unemployment that keeps me in line :).

Well, neither the four digit code (with the four digits adding up to 20) nor the five digit code (with the five digits adding up to 26) is a real secret....

My understanding of corporate agreements is that that they negotiate based on an assumed lower AND upper level of volumes. If either assumption turns out to be wrong (i.e. not enough volume or too much volume) then the hotel chain will want to renegotiate the discount next year. Per some posts by socrates in the Marriott forum, this is based off the fact that hotels have a set (or limited) number of total inventory with which to "sell".

So it may not be in your company's best interest to have everyone trying to use their discount codes.

Like how severe? Public flogging? Beheading? Iron Maiden lockup?

None of the above... but I can say the range of potential consequences for a violations of our code of conduct can be from the relatively minor (discussion/write up in personnel file), to poor annual rating, to the severe (IMHO) termination.

It obviously varies by offense, but I can say that doing things that would draw negative public attention to our company are handled more severly. Read into that as you wish... If there was a scenario where an employee posted the code and it led to some negative public attention, concerns rasied by clients, etc than I am confident in saying the employee in question would not be happy with the outcome.

If I was eligible for this and I did the quartly promo, would one get quadriple stays / nights? or more? Starwood Moderator?

If I signed up for this would there be any benefit for the "Choose" promo of double stays / nights?

The 3rd and the 5th digits are equal
1st - 3rd = 2nd - 4th
3rd * 4th = 1st ^ 2 - 1
2nd - 1st = sqrt (5th)

leiterk, solve this and you have the code. But be very careful with it! As RandyGiblets noted, it may lead to extremely negative public attention, clients will raise huge concerns, essentially the future of Accenture lies in these precious digits… Be more responsible than you were with the LEH code!

If you were signed up for a dozen Stays Count Double promotions that ran simultaneously, all you are going to get is one stay along with the number of nights involved in that stay that get doubled.

So, no advantage whatsoever.

Hopefully any Accenture employees who can benefit from this promo now know about it. Non-Accenture employees have the upcoming Starwood promo for double stay qualification.

This thread has devolved into a discussion of the Accenture ethics policy. That's of little relevance in the Starwood forum. Since the thread has run its course, I am going to lock it.
