Can my wife check-in before me with my Platinium card? I'll be a late arrival from a trip? (mtg up in my sister's city). Also, what happens if I miss my flight and I'm a no show.

If you add your wife's name to the reservation, she will be allowed to check in without any trouble. And if flight problems prevent you from arriving, they are not going to evict her from the room.
Simply be aware that Starwood's rules say that the room must be paid for by the member who plans to accrue the points.

As the other poster said, she can check in but you will want to call ahead to add her name onto the reservation. Call the hotel directly.
Also, she will need to present a credit card at check in- however, once you arrive, you can switch it over to your credit card. If you want to prevent her from having to give her credit card (and incase you do not arive to switch it over to your credit card, so you earn the points) you can always have the property fax over a copy of the credit card authorization form, which would be required to charge your card with out having the physical card present at check in. You would just need to fax over a copy of your id and credit card, along with the completed form.

I have never had a problem getting my points when my wife checks in before me using her CC. Just call the Plat line and have them add your wife's name to the reservation before check-in. I would not call the hotel direct and give them any idea that you might not show as this could cause point problems.

I just had several stays where we used my wife's credit card since mine had reached the forex limit. They both come out of the same bank account and I was with her. All points posted properly to my account.
The one time she was checking in before me I made sure to add her name and called the property to make them aware.
