Hi all. Trying to book trip between JFK-YVR. Booked on website and got reservation# and email confirmation. However bank account never debited for stated amount. Website shows no info under my bookings. Should I use credit card instead? Thanks for any info

I certainly wouldn't make a second booking until I had confirmed direct with CX that the first one was invalid. I reckon if you wait a day or two it will turn up - there's often a delay of a day or two before charges appear.

I used a debit card last year. Not sure how long it takes CX but when I use my card to book JAL flights, it can take a week or 2 before it hits my account. When I asked a phone rep about it, they told me it was because of the billing cycle.

I have used both credit and debit cards, and it has taken about a week. My check card shows $ taken from account, 3 days later I have the money in my account again, then after 3 or 4 more days, they take it again. But I would use a credit card, just in case, for better protection

If your US debit card has a Visa or MC symbol on it, the charge is charged like a creditcard and is indeed valid. I have purchased may tickets from various US websites and have not had many problems.

Its just the billing and ticketing cycle that CX's booking engine goes through thats all.
