Do you mean confirming for an earlier or later flight same day? If Im understanding you correctly - then IF the same class of service is available, with the same city pairs, then for a fee you can be confirmed on an earlier or later flight. You can also standby for free same day regardless of the class of service available. If same class of service ISNT available, and its your outbound, then depending on the rules of your ticket, you may have to pay the difference in fare from what you have to what you want to be confirmed on in addition to the change fee. spgaston Sep 5, 08, 2:07 pm Do you mean confirming for an earlier or later flight same day? I'm specifically talking about the $25 OLCI-only Same_day_confirmed option on alaskaair.com. This would be for travel later in the day than ticketed, and since it is a last minute deal who knows what class of service.....I think it's S. flyingstudent Sep 5, 08, 2:16 pm Last minute deal books into G class. westcoastman Sep 5, 08, 7:17 pm FYI I tried to standby on a Site59 fare at the airport years ago and was denied even though the original flight was expected to be several hours late. The ITM would not allow standby either. But that was a while ago and with this new system all bets are off and I would not be surprised if it let you pay $25 but did not give you the standby options. I was given the $25 option for the outbound of an award ticket. Go expecting to take your original flight with a fairly decent chance you will be given a $25 option and report back! Hi Ok if you try to do the web check in or at the ITM at the airport, and you want to standby for earlier or later flight then you will get a choice of different options. You will given the option to standby for no charge or confirm for $25 charge. Its up to you which one you choose, however where you bought your ticket or when you bought it will have no bearing. If there are seats available then you can confirm for the $25 charge. If there are not because the flight is at capacity or oversold, then you will only be given the option to standby for another flight but not confirm. However the confirm for an earlier or later flight for $25 is ONLY available online at the website or at the ITM. Its not available through REZ or at the counter. If you change at the counter then its a $50 change fee. Did that answer your question?
