Amongst all the offers Delta is throwing out lately, I forgot about this one emailed to me as member of Fastbreak. Basically if you rent a car any class for one day or more with a Garmin where2 unit(goes for addtnl 13.95 day) at participating a/port locations you'll get 5000 bonus miles. This offer is good thru END Of YEAR. Also, advance res required BUT NO 24 HRS. The coupon # required for this MUAZ025. Of course, make sure Skymiles# is on rental/check-in. I did this twice already,23-4Aug at my home a/port and 26th Aug @ LAX,set-up as 5-hr rental, with 4 hr advance rez. Both posted today with the 5K bonus.^ Actually the offer is extended from the standpoint that rental must begin by end of year. Offer may not be combined w/any other coupon #,promo,or offer.

I've made several reservations using MUAZ025 and BCD U093300 (and renting the GPS). Will I be safe? I mean, using the U093300, do I preclude receiving the 5,000 points?
Thank you.
:)
EDIT:
Also, if the GPS isn't available, what shall I do to still get the DL miles? Several months ago, at the beginning of this promo, I "neglected" to pick up or pay for the GPS. I still received the 5,000, I suppose because the coupon was in the reservation. The second time I similarly neglected the GPS, the code was in, but the miles didn't come through. I guessed Budget had tightened up the loophole. Those were at LAX. This time all the rentals are at SBA. If they don't have it, can I still pay the $14, and get the 5,000 miles? (Or, er, "neglect it"?) I know this sounds silly, but I don't care about the thing itself.....
(And I know it's Budget etc. etc., "but still we do it, still we do it.")
Thanks again.

I have used that BCD and got bonus- seems to be cheapest $. I have rented the car w/gps and told them just keep it at counter so when I rtr rental ,I don't have to worry about forgetting it in car(obviously at a counter location) However some agents don't like that as then they have to find that "one" unit in order to rtrn it to inventory, meaning they might have to rummage thru a pile in the back room. At LAX, where I did that, didn't u get the GPS @ the checkpoint? If you refused it there, they might have taken it off the contract. I'd say take it at bigger locales- jeez it's not that big- u can fit it in a coat pocket or attache. I just hope this promo doesn't "expire" before it's original planned ending like the "up to 8k miles" screw-up going on now! I don't even see Budget listed as one of Delta's prtnrs anymore!

I was just on the phone w/ a cs rep in the corporate office & he said to make certain that u at least keep the car overnight even if u have to park it in order to receive your miles, so that being said confirms(somewhat) that its still on. He brought this up b/c of the guy who rented 10 cars in one day & brang them back an hour later. He said if u bring them back in that short period of time then u will not receive your miles.

Most of the Budget promos(and Avis,National's 1-2 Free, others) require you to make a reservation 24 hours prior to picking up the car(however I have and others have had successs in getting bonus w/less thatn 24 hrs out) All Budget stated in this promotion was an advance reservation- as long as you didn't do a walk-up. I too, have e-mailed Budget about htis promo and reply was if I have not received the bonus miles (rental did on 15th) to send them the reservation number if it is a future rental or the rental agreement number if it is a past rental. So my warped thinking is hopeful for the ones I did w/no bonus recorded but still not sure if future ones-if I make them now-will be eligible for the 5k bonus.

My intention is, if they'll work with me, to just be sure that the code is in the contract and to ask them to charge me for it. I think (there I go again) that that's all the computer and the bureaucracy will care about. Preferable to asking them to add a notation, "GPS unavailable, but please credit customer anyway." Again, I don't care about the toy itself. (Very random thought: What a difference a few decades make. When I was five, and "the bureaucracy" was Battle Creek, Michigan, the toy was The Show... but I do digress. Anybody know what I'm talking about? :o )

I can't find this promo posted by Budget anywhere and wonder if they will still honor it through December (the other big Skymiles mileage promos have clearly been withdrawn by them).
1. Has anyone used this recently and gotten the 5k miles bonus posted to theiir Skymiles account?
2. Is the offer still posted on the internet anywhere?
See panel 2. I am in the midst of a string of them (single days). I made several of the reservations early in November, and one the day before yesterday for yesterday to today. Proceeding from the promotion page, the booking pages still carry the code forward. I always add U093300. This BCD and MUAZ025 coupon always are accepted. I don't yet know if the bonus miles will post, but am prepared for the fight (printing the page daily, and, let's see, that Tulsa BBB address is...). One thing that unhinged me was to discover (what I'd forgotten) that my credit card number made my reservation a FastBreak reservation. I remember this being a big problem in prior promotions (when the profile information differed from the promo). Nevertheless, the coupon shows on the contracts and receipts.
By the way, I have no idea who Niraj is. I picked up the URL somewhere on FlyerTalk a while ago, and bookmarked it. :)
(PS: I wish it were Mrp Alert or Evan! who were - authoritatively - answering your question, rather than me.....)

Also by the way, it's unnerving when the person behind the counter gets an attitude when I tell them why I'm doing this. I get the feeling that they think I'm cutting into their bonus. It's unnerving because so much rests on them. I mean, a simple little "error" on their part can sink me. Last night, the person checking me in and out asked, "How many more times you gonna be doing this?" And I have been using the same car to save them the cleaning cycles.
Anyone else encounter this? Mrp Alert? Evan!?

It can quite simply be the agent. I have encountered the same problem. When I rent from my most frequent counter at various times, that agent's name has come up and other agent's mentioned that one is difficult. Sheesh- feel like telling the agent-"What-u don't want my $$?!"

I have e-mailed both Budget on the offer and Avis about the 25K/3 days and 5K/5 days and received replys that they are still valid to the original ending date. DFW25FLY, I'd suggest that you just need to have rented it, afterall. I always see it with a button beside it at the top of the next-to-last booking page -- the one where you can add whatever goodies you want. If I were you, I wouldn't go back and cancel and re-book. I'm virtually certain that you'll get the pitch for it when you turn up, either while you're standing in line (as they do it at BOS) or at the counter, even if you already have it in your reservation (as at SBA). :p
By the way, word to the wise, my friendly counter person last night (to whom I referred above) wrote a little notation on my contract that if the toy is lost or damaged, the charge will be $559.................. (I immediately put it through its paces when I got into the car.)
Also by the way, in a humerous vein, when the voice says, "Re-CALculating", doesn't it feel a lot like "Bad dog. No! No!"? OK, I'm new with this..... :)

It had been 5K miles on any vehicle - in my BBB response today, Budget said they weren't going to honor reservations that were made after 6 November, the date they considered the Budget / Delta arrangement "terminated". I would be a little wary of dealing with the company. My BBB complaint was about this promotion specifically (5k miles with where2).

It all depends on the station. PHX loved me for doing crazy rentals and tried to hook me up with better vehicles. OTOH, sometimes you don't have to tell your rental agent everything up front. Some people just don't get FlyerTalkers.
All these references to Evan! and myself motivated me to try this offer out at a station that issues DL miles. LAS is too much of a PITA when it comes to Budget (Avis is amazing there) so I have not yet tested this offer. Will post my results, but I lack confidence as this is a Budget offer.

As to my comment above, it really has depended on the person. And after doing this the first couple of times (in/out), they were curious. A couple got a kick out of it. One was as noted above.
FWIW, my last one was due to air IRROPS, so I made the reservation over the phone. First, I mistakenly asked about MUAZ082, and the agent quoted, "2,500 Delta SkyMiles (etc. etc.)" I said, "Whoops, I meant MUAZ025," and she quoted, "5,000 Delta SkyMiles, minimum one day, with a Where2....." I said, "That one... It is still live?" She said, "Yes, through December 31." I know that we can't take a verbal to the bank, but it was encouraging. Now, to print the offer again.

Avis and Budget have both stopped giving out the Bonus miles. I finished 2 rentals (1 each) last week and just got the base points. This had never happened before. Either Delta has decided to wait for a few weeks before posting these points OR Delta has stopped this promotion from their end. I am now back to Alamo and Thrifty for my rentals. Earlier I paid abt 10$ per day more to Avis/Budget and it was worth because of the miles. No more.

While the promotion page that contains the t&c that says this expires 12/31 is still up, it's no longer possible to move from it to make a reservation: "HTTP Status 404 - Could not find the requested link". It is still possible to reserve with MUAZ025 if you start from the Budget home page, however. (And I still like BCD U093300.)

Nothing yet for my rentals across Thanksgiving week and into early December. I know, long after everyone else gave up. But I did get an email in late January from DL/iSeatz that they were working on my 8/08 inquiries re the 9,999 (which I had in fact received in late December). And the DL board now has lots of love about the "150%" promo (DL is so great etc. etc.).
1) One might infer that there's been a shake-up at DL SkyMiles promotions (and I continue to think there must have been 1-2 persons in those offices when FlyerTalk hit the fan over all these -- and their walls must look nasty).
2) Though I'm working on this after giving them their 10 weeks (and I have the documentation, dated by the Boston Public Library's printer) ...I'm guessing I might hear back sui generis, about April 30.

On June 08, 2009, the business provided the following information:
Thank you for contacting Avis Budget Group regarding your Delta miles with the Budget program and the Garmin unit. My information available to me is that five out of the six rentals had the coupon number on the advanced booked reservations. I have reached out to the Promotions group and asked them to escalate the six rentals bonus miles application. Normal processing time is 6 - 9 weeks. Thank you for contacting Budget regarding your rentals.
Quite frankly I would just file a complaint with BBB rather than wasting time calling customer service.
