Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - airport buy-up LAX-HKG

I have a trip coming up from LAX-HKG in Y (booking class K) and HKG-KUL in J. I am wondering If i can buy-up at the airport from Y-J for my first leg. Anyone know how much would that cost me?

I just flew LAX-HKG on 8/30 on CX885 as an AA codeshare. Booked in Y
(H fare), asked at check in if they offered discounted upgrades to AA elites (I am an AA PLAT--soon to be EXP). The TA offered me a price of $2500.00 for the OW upgrade. I declined but at least that possibility exists.

that sounds more like a new one way fare then an upgrade of your ticket. I remember last year I was doing a JFK-HKG in Y and they were offering US$1500 for an upgrade (Y-J). I know in DPS they offer a US$250 upgrade from Y-J. and for elites they put them in F seats (3 class flight, 2 class service).

Of course it's doesnt hurt to ask...one may get lucky...However to the OP i suggest since your part of Asia miles, it's more in your interest to try to upgrade using your miles then $$

I do belong to Asia Miles but i do not have a lot of miles banked. I managed to upgrade the second section. I'm not going to keep my AM. I want to use them before they expired. :D
