I'm taking my honeymoon in Bora Bora and Moorea in the beginning of October 2008. When going from PPT-BOB the puddle jumper seems the way to go. I've gotten a quote from the airline but heard it's cheaper to make the reservation when you get there. Would you advise this, or not. Any help would be appreciated.
Also any other suggestions on these islands would be greatly appreciated. We're flying into Tahiti late on the 29th and checking into a hotel. The following morning we're off to the airport to go to Bora Bora for 7 days at the Club Med.
Then we'll be flying to Moorea for 2 nights. We're staying at the IC in Moorea.

Well I suppose you can wing it and book the ticket once you arrive there. I dont know how many flights a day they have or how often they are filled up.
I dont think there is a significant cost savings by not booking early.

Are you refering to Air Tahiti here? This is what we took traveling between those two island when we visited two years ago. Don't seem to recall in it being refered to as a puddle jumper. Another form that I heard about island-island commute is by boat but I also heard it is an awful long journey if you are going from Tahiti to Bora Bora.

Yes, that's what I'm referring to. I just assumed it was a very small plane. Ferry isn't' an option as it is too long.

Flights to Bora Bora can be very full so absolutely no way I would book the flight on arrival.
We were waitlisted to change our flying time two weeks ago and the waitlist didn't clear because all seats on all flights on that day were full.
Ask the Club Med to help you with the ticket reservation. The local hotels have access to the local pricing and can get the tickets cheaper than what you can.
Enjoy Bora Bora and Moorea. We are just returning from there (and Easter Island).
