KLM Flying Dutchman - best seat on KLM 737 AMS-HEL + KLM to NCL
I am flying BE on a DL M fare to AMS then KLM on to HEL (Nov 14 then 22). DL says I can call KLM and request a seat but I don't know if they would really do anything other than assign a seat once I reach the actual gate.
At any rate, since SeatGuru cannot help me, would someone please tell me a good seat to request? I have DVTs (blood clots) and thus benefit from extra leg room and being able to get up and walk half way through the flight.
I would also like to know about the KLM flights from AMS to NCL. First I wonder about legroom on this equipment then I wonder if 1 1/2 hours is enough time to transfer to a DL flight once into AMS on the return?
Thanks for your consideration.

KL doesn't preassign seats on 737s as the a/c use the flexi configuration seats (movable curtain divides economy and "Europe Select" cabins). The seats further up front have slightly more room than those toward the back allegedly (never sat in a row behind 7 or 8). Picking EE exits is a mug's game as a/c may and do change (KL operates 5 types of 737s).
1 1/2 hours is plenty of time in AMS for non-Schengen-U.S. or v-v (no immigration or customs, just security at the gate) as long as your flight is on time and you don't get a Fokker (which means hard stand and bussing).
As for DVT, take an aspirin.

Thanks for your insight on the schedules, very helpful.
In terms of my health, these DVTs almost took my life with multiple PEs. So they cannot be controlled by an aspirin, thank you.

That's only correct for economyclass. Europeselect ("Business class") can preselect a seat.
