Central America - Developments in Bolivia

Is anyone in La Paz today (or has been recently)? I'm planning to fly into LPB from Chile in a couple of weeks and then do a touristy jaunt across Lago Titicaca toward Puno. I'm excited about my first trip to Bolivia. I screened the film "American Visa" at the Cervantes Institute, and I have my Diamox tablets in hand. At the same time, I'd prefer to avoid any serious political unrest. My family in Buenos Aires urges me to reconsider the trip, sending me news articles about some issues following the recent referendum (e.g., the blocking of the roads to Argentina and Chile). It seems like the troubles are mostly limited to the east and that I shouldn't have any problem enjoying a few days in La Paz and then setting out to explore the lake. I'd appreciate any advice or recent observations, though. Thanks!
