bmi diamond club - Q re fees inc fuel surcharge when changing a booking

I have an LH F flight to Dubai booked for January (LHR-FRA-DXB). A few weeks ago LH pushed back the departure of the FRA-DXB leg, which leaves us with an increased 3hr 20min layover in Frankfurt. Yes, of course, the First Class Terminal is great but there is a limit to how much time I want to spend in airports in one day - especially as we have a 3 hour layover in Dubai later in the day before our connection to Male!

Anyway ....

I can move our LHR-FRA flight forward by one hour, leaving us with a more comfortable 2hr 25m layover. However, I was wondering:

a) does a simple change like this trigger the BMI change fee?

b) as the LH fuel surcharge has increased since I booked, will I also be faced with paying the extra fuel surcharge for the LHR-FRA leg?

c) would BMI actually reprice the entire LHR-FRA-DXB itinerary, which would also mean I would have to pay the extra long-haul fuel surcharge for the FRA-DXB leg even though I am not touching that leg?

No - it shouldn't - I have had flight times changed by less than 1 hour and called up as it meant my connection was messed - I changed my entire outbound itinerary (days and times) for free.

The call centre managers have a lot of flexiblity - try and get one (you may need to hold for some time) but they will probably wave this for you.

Dunno mate - on your own on that one!

I believe they would... From experience i changed times on a DUB-FRA-LAX flight and they repriced it... Fortunately for me the price decreased because of a currency fluctuation.

Its my understanding that anything which requires the ticket to be re-issued will mean that you have to pay the current applicable taxes... although i stress its just my understanding and could be very wrong.
