Expansion in North Asia listed as one of the priorities (but no new widebody a/c until 2009/10).

Loyalty changes for shorthaul.

Airpoints - exploring wider applications outside air travel.

Value of airpoints balances has risen slightly from $222 million to $224 million, and a slightly higher proportion is expected to be redeemed beyond 1 year from balance date than in 2007.

All NZ flights will count towards Gold and Gold Elite status.

From later this year, new check-in at AKL, WLG & CHC domestic terminals with self-serve baggage check in. E-ticket and barcode pxt will be used as boarding passes.

I wish they would introduce self-service check-in kiosks internationally (or at least online check-in). It would save being stuck in line on those trans-Tasman flights behind people who have either never flown before and have no idea what they're doing, or who once they get to check-in take twenty minutes to deal with because they have overpacked their luggage/not obtained an Australian ETA/whatever the hell is wrong with them that they couldn't sort it out beforehand. Unfortunately this seems to be getting more and more frequent, and certainly nothing to do with the efficiency of the check-in staff, who usually manage to dispatch me away in two minutes or less.

But that aside, good to hear Air NZ are still looking at developing their product further. They've come a really long way in the past ten years or so.

I could only see a reference to the changes as a priority.
Nothing announced really.
I also thought they would mention what they are going to do with the ATR fleet.
I see they are getting another B1900D, so Eagle Air will be expanding.
Finally I noticed that they are going to park two of their 747 by the end of the year, presumably the two that they own considering they have sold the other two to raise some cash.

I wonder what that means? Turning Airpoints into a FlyBuys like program? Surely a great way to further reduce their financial liabilities.

I assume it is related to the new hot seats website. Maybe use airbucks to buy tickets to some events, which encourages more travel.
