Hi all,

I have been to Sydney a few times and have always stayed in hotels near the water (Hyatt, Pier One, Shangri La). This December I will be travelling with others who don't want to spend the big bucks for these places.

We came accross an ver good deal for the Vibe Hotel near the central train station. The pics and text on the website sound good but....has anyone here stayed there and can give me some feedback particularly on location, rooms and food?

Many thanks,

I have not personally stayed at this hotel but ...

We use all three Vibe Hotels (CBD, Rushcutter's Bay, North Sydney) to house visitors from our overseas subsidiaries. By all accounts these are pretty reasonable 4 star properties that should satisfy most. There's a wide range of food options close by the one you're looking at so, even if the food there isn't great, you won't go hungry.

I have stayed at the North Sydney and Rushcutters Bay Vibe Hotels and they have both been good - simple, clean, efficient. I always find Sydney a difficult place to get a good hotel at a good price and tend to stay in a different place, depending on the rates available at the time.

I assume it is in Goulburn Street:

+1 on the above, I've stayed at the North Sydney property, both in its former DUXTON incarnation and its current VIBE lable, acceptable enough - certainly beats the Holiday Inn Suva.
