Are they predicting the future?

I think the article was written a few weeks ago when oil prices were higher.

And though prices have dropped slightly, the point of the article still stands essentially untouched. Whether it's $100 or $130 per barrel, or somewhere in between, it's still a huge increase in fuel costs.

The $99 transcon is gone forever, I believe.
