West - Jackson Hole taxis

My S.O. and I are popping over to Jackson Hole for a few days from London via Denver in October (yes I know that means we are bonkers!). We will both be sampling California's finest courtesy of United on the flight from LHR and will be very tired anyway on arrival so we have no appetite for getting to our hotel (Four Seasons) by rental car. The Four Seasons wants almost as much to organise a transfer as they do for the room!
So my question: Will there be taxis available at Jackson Hole airport, definitely, maybe, no chance? The airport website lists a lot of local taxi firms but doesn't say if cabs routinely queue at the airport. If it's more sensible to organise this in advance could someone who has does this recommend a firm and maybe give a guestimate of the likely cost?
Thanks in advance for any help.

1) There should be some Taxis around the airport.
2) There is a shortcut from the Airport to Teton Village, it includes 6 miles of unpaved road, and closes at some point when the snow starts, but it is probably still open in Oct.* I’m not sure if Taxis would use it, but you could ask, since it probably cuts at least 15 minutes off the trip.
3) My guess is a cab from the Airport to FS would be $60, but that is a big guess.
4) October is shoulder season, so not much going on, and the weather may not be great. Kind of like London, but colder.
5) You will want a car, I’m pretty sure you can get one while at Teton Village.
*This info may be dated since the Rockefeller’s donated the rest of the JY Ranch to the Park, and the road is a park road, that was primarily used for access to the Ranch.

due to the really spread out nature of the jackson hole area, you might seriously consider renting a car. The teton village is quite a ways (11 miles I believe) from the city itself and there arne't many things close to it.

I LOL because many years ago when I used to live in Jackson Hole there were three taxis in town and one of them was driven by a guy who didn't quite have his alcohol/life balance in order, effectively leaving two taxis for the entire town!

Two things: hope you booked the promotion offer of "stay 3-1 night free" at the 4Seasons. Rate goes into effect 9/27 and is good through October/early Nov. that means you pay for 2, 3rd night free. 2nd, you really need in car in JH, especially if you plan on going over to Yellowstone; airport rental is pretty easy & drive to Hotel shouldn't take very long (approx 20 miles & skip the shortcut dirt road.)

Certainly did get the promotional rate. :)Must be the cheapest Four Seasons rate in the US - the basic room costs just $550 for three nights! We're just hoping that the fact that the rates are so discounted isn't a warning that Wyoming will be shut when we get there...

It is 20 Minutes from Jackson to Teton village, so I don't know how you can get there from the Airport in 20 minutes.

No, Jackson is a year-round town. (Not like many mountain resorts out west).
And do definitely rent a car. You WILL need it.
Enjoy. I'll be there later, when the snow comes. :)
