Hertz - Hertz Mobile Web

Hertz now has a mobile web site for your mobile phone or PDA. I found it by browsing to Hertz.com on my Palm Centro and was redirected.
It is pretty robust, better than most mobile sites I've used, allowing you to do most basic tasks, including make a reservation. (Hotels.com mobile is also very good.)

It's been online for at least two months. It's not too bad.

I gather you're in the UK, Shuttle-Bored. Have you been able to convince Hertz Mobile of that fact?
When I log in with my #1 number, it asks me to select my country and language. USA is already selected, with no option to change.
My upcoming rentals show up correctly, but when I ask for a quote, it gives me crazy prices ~£240 against the hertz.co.uk rate of ~£70.

Have to admit I didn't try a booking - just checked my existing bookings. I did notice the USA default though - bit annoying if that can't be changed (though in some cases, it could be an advantage ;) :D )

Hi
Just my input on this for you guys, at the moment the website for mobiles is only being marketed towards the US market, due to this being a trial and our biggest market share is the US currently. Should this be sucessful then it will come to the UK, hence the default to US pricing.
Feedback would be welcome by UK users though.

Brian,
Just FYI, assuming you weren't joking, the site now has an iPhone icon....
But I assume you've found that already... :) :)

This is pretty recent. I was here a week ago today, and it was not an iPhone site. Today, I see it is! :D^
