Best Western Rewards - Point posting problems

It seems like 3 out of every 4 times I stay at a BW lately I have had to call the hotel to get my miles posted. This last time I had to call to get the correct number of nights to post (they had not posted my stay, which was corrected, but only with 1 night, not the three that I stayed) and had to basically explain the elite status information to the desk manager.
Anyone else having this same kind of problem too? Is their system just that messed up that things don't post correctly?

I basically lived at a Best Western for 9 months for business a few years ago. If I had been able to stay at a Marriott or Hilton property, I would have and still be getting my rump kissed by the property manager (paid close to rack rates, corp. didn't care). The Best Western was the newest and nicest in the area but they had a lot of problems posting points. I wound up getting about 1/3 of the points I should have had. I think the BW system is unfriendly to the property manager and unless they are willing to take the time to learn it, they don't care to. It may also depend on how many members they get and how much repeat corporate business they get. The BW's I use for my current company are very good and points show up in 24-48 hours and are accurate. In short, the system has been bad for a while and it sounds like they haven't bothered to fix the issues. BW should as they have a good rewards program if you like budget foreign travel and could poach more Marriott and Hilton members. The problem is the "mating" of proprietor and BW corporate.

I had a real problem getting points posted for a trip across the US. I tried for 6 months and showed proof of stay. Then they told me I had passed the expiration date for posting points! Sheesh :(

Yes.
Are you giving them your BW GCCI card at every check-in, and making sure they either write down the card number, or run it through the machine, or tell you "we already have your card number in here"? They used to always require a "point tracking" form for you to get points. They supposedly don't always require it now, but maybe it's still a "manual" process at some of their properties?
Btw, how are you making reservations? If you make the online at BW's site, you should be able to call BW central (not need to call the hotel). (Tho if you forgot to check that the hotel got your BW GCCI number recorded right, then you might need to call the hotel about that.)

I've had a problem with international stays and BW says they can't check those so I've had to fax/mail copies of my folios for proper credit even though I've made the reservations at bw.com. The good news is when they get sorted out you sometimes end up with extra nights or points.
