iDine/Rewards Network - CO to leave RN 10/31/08

I wonder what CO's rationale is for leaving the program. The program seems to be pretty successful with the other carriers and doesn't Rewards Network simply purchase the miles from the airline and award them to users? Unless Rewards Network is demanding too big a concession from CO, I see no reason why they would leave the program.

Is anyone acually surprised that CO left? They gave every possible clue: They never adopted the 5+5 "rate your dine" bonus, nor any other bonus in recent years.

And BA left months ago, after having been just about as bad about bonuses for years.
