I plan to spend an evening in Cleveland. Is Chagrin Blvd east of the Blue Rapid line to 271 safe, or is it homicide central? I would like to live to post again.

Do you mean east of the end of the blue line, east of Warrensville Center Road? If so, I would not classify it as homicide anything. It's relatively up-scale suburbs (Shaker Heights and Beachwood), lots of shopping strips. There are definitely areas of Cleveland where I would not want to venture at night, but you should survive to your next FlyerTalk post.

Never had a problem that far out. Shaker Heights and Beachwood are ok areas. A friend did point out some projects north of Mayfield Road once and warned me away. I stayed in the Chagrin/271 area about 400 nights over the last 7 years with never a moment of worry.

that area is safe. are you planning to walk from the end of the blue line (chagrin & warrensville) to the "hotel district" at chagrin & 271? that's a bit of a haul. i personally wouldn't walk it, but not because i wouldn't feel safe. it's because i'm lazy.
