I wrote here a while ago that if you cancel a reservation online within 24 hours of making it, 100% of the funds show as fully refundable. This is company policy.
The bug is that even if you re-used non-refundable funds in making that reservation, the screen will show the funds as fully refundable. They are not, and you will not get the refund. There is no simple way to refund just the refundable part in this situation. The best thing to do is to just hold the funds for future use.
I saw this happen once before many months ago, and I didn't know what was going on. This time it happened when I made a booking error and immediately cancelled the reservation before rebooking the correct dates. (Should have used the new change itinerary feature, actually.) Anyway, since I was about to re-use the funds anyway, it was easy just to hold the funds for future use in the next 5 minutes. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
Could one of the Southwest insiders here please forward this bug report to the web site software team?
