A Civil Aviation Authority investigation has launched a "desktop investigation" after a Pacific Blue Boeing 737 was blown away from a boarding gate at Wellington Airport.

The incident happened in June, shortly after passengers disembarked the plane, and was caught by an airport CCTV camera.

The footage was then posted on the website liveleak.com (see below).

Check out the video. Yes it can get very windy at Wellington. Does anyone know the date?

That is amazing. It's very fortunate that no one was using the jetway when this happened.

The news article needs serious editing. The headline states that 180 pax were on board, then the details say that it happened both shortly after pax had disembarked and during disembarkation . And while no date was given ("happened in June"), the writer gives an approximate time: 8:34 AM.

It's not called windy Wellington for nothing. :D
That's the first regional investigation this week not involving QF metal!

I'll echo the WOW!! from above. That is crazy. You can see the rampers jackets billowing in the wind, but even still that is pretty insane. It doesn't look like it is raining or that the ground is slippery, so there's a lot of friction to overcome with that nose gear on the concrete. Still, the broad side of the plane makes a nice sail it would seem.
