Again, still new so apologize if this one seems pretty simple.
I've got to book for myself and 2 colleagues to a business conference in Houston (coming from Toronto). They don't have any frequent flier accounts. Can I ask that their flights be credited to my ff account?
Thanks in advance for all your help.

Nope, the ff miles gets credited to the name on the boarding pass.
No, only the person flying can get the miles. They could register for FF acconts and then transfer the miles to you, although this would incurr transfer costs.
Nope, the only time that I saw that happen was on an inter-island carrier from Taipei to Kaohsiung. The guy who booked my trip asked me if it was OK for him to get my miles. I was never going to fly with them again, nor do I remember the name of the carrier, so I told him it was OK.
And they took his number for both tickets http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/eek.gif
I only wish it could be true here http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif
Only British Airways has a household program that I know of.
Sorry.

www.destina.ca (http://www.destina.ca) and www.reisi.net (http://www.reisi.net) are two sites where you earn miles/points while booking for others.
Yes you can also refer others to FF program and earn miles. LH Miles and More has now 500 points for every new member you refer.
I remember the good old days when I got 5x10.000 points from KLM for refering 5 people. Later KL changed its system to miles instead and that means 10.000 points=18.000 miles which mean I had enough miles for a RT in BIZ to NorthAmerica from Sweden..
You might get away with it if names are similar. For example A B Smith and B A Smith.

You won't be able to get the miles for their flights but if you *pay* for the tix with a miles-earning credit card, then you would get those miles--including applicable bonuses (ie double miles for buying US tix using your BofA USAir card).

I have a friend who has the same name as his dad, and they use the same FF account (they fly so infrequently it's not like they're getting double status perks or something like that).

As long as they know they are probably violating the rules of the program and will lose everything they've earn if discovered, and are willing to take that risk.
And have no scruples.

I used to pick up some miles from my father's trip, infrequent as they were.
Darn, now I really miss the guy <sniff>

I think they've earned ~25K together in the last several years combined (or the equivalent of what many FT'ers get every month) so that's not a concern of theirs. I think the first time it was an accident (one of the auto-name matching things to put flight miles into the FF account).
If a set of twins were switching IDs in order to do it, that would be something else.
If Aeroplan catches them then they will take everything away from the. Not sure about every other plan.
