iDine/Rewards Network - Linking Amex Gift Cards

Anyone have any experience with linking Amex gift cards to your idine account? I have several and I'm not sure whether I should try and link and use at Idine or just go all out on a non-Idine restaurant.

It doesn't work. The number sequences aren't the same as regular Amex cards, so the idine program doesn't recognize them.
