If you've ever missed a turn, set the altitude bug incorrectly or committed any of thousands of sins that air traffic controllers routinely catch and help correct every day without much fuss, those days are apparently over. The FAA has apparently ordered controllers to violate pilots for any and all errors and has threatened to discipline them if they don't file the reports. While the FAA says it's just enforcing rules already in place, the head of the National Air Traffic Controllers Association say it's yet another burden an an already-overworked workforce that will pit controllers against pilots.

So they are just now deciding to enforce the rules? No news here, unless somebody has been breaking the rules.

Pilots are human and make human mistakes. Minor errors, by both pilots and controllers, do occur. But, pilots and controllers working together help keep things running smoothly. This directive from FAA management is not going to improve safety.

" What's good for the goose .... ? " ;)
So long as us pilot-folk have an equally enforceable opportunity/responsibility to write-up every error committed by "XXX Center" ...
'course they have *our* number, and they're just another voice in the headset...

FAA is no longer stressing "Aviate - Navigate - Communicate" ??
