We're putting the finishing touches on our plans for our honeymoon in October, and I wanted to make one big thread to keep track of it because I have 999 other things going on. Flying on AA for the international legs and LAN for the local. So this thread is to help iron out an itinerary for each day and find out where we have holes in our travel plans. Any help is appreciated.

BsAs -
We're leaving the US for BsAs, Argentina on Oct 9th, landing early in the morning on Friday Oct 10th. We're going to be staying at Casa Palermitano( http:\\www.casapalermitano.com ) in BsAs Friday night- Sunday night
We're going to stop by the b&b and drop off our bags early, then come back in the afternoon to formally check in. No definite plans for our time in BsAs, except that we want to visit Guacho1000k's wine shop, catch a futbol match(our b&b offers to make arrangements, but still waiting to see the cost, they offerred a car from the airport for AR$140, which is a little high), Fiancee also wants to catch a tango show and wander over to Casa Rosada(musical fan. sigh) Other than that we're going to try to pick up a list of reasonable restaurant recommendations(I'd like a nice steak once or twice, and she's vegetarian so it might be difficult, but we'd like to find some good local food.) I don't want to have every minute of every day planned but we'd like to have a list ready of a few restaurants that are known good to eat at.

Friday -
Saturday -
Sunday -
Monday morning -

Food options - SottoVoce, Pura Tierra
--------------------------
Iguazu -
Monday afternoon we are flying to Iguazu Falls and staying at the Hotel Psada la sorgente ( http://www.lasorgentehotel.com/ ) for monday - Wednesday night. We are also thinking about Secret garden B&B (http://www.secretgardeniguazu.com/), but both seem like good places. Sorgente hotel has offered to arrange a car for AR$50.

Monday night we will probably settle into our hotel and explore the town some, grabbing dinner. Tuesday we'll get up and head to the falls, probably spend most of the day in the park and maybe take the boat or jeep ride. Wednesday will probably be the same thing. Will take food with us to the park or find a snack there and then eat in town each night.

Monday night -
Tuesday -
Wednesday -

Bariloche -
-------------------------
Thursday morning up early and back to the airport. Sit through a layover in BsAs and then on to bariloche. Find a car or a bus to get us to our house, settle in and find food.

Thursday -Sunday we are staying at the barilochehouse ( http://barilochehouse.com/ )

Thursday morning up early and back to the airport. Sit through a layover in BsAs and then on to bariloche. Find a car or a bus to get us to our house, settle in and find food. Still pretty open here on plans, we've heard there are 150 things to do, we just haven't found any that stand out yet. We have the bulk of our time here, we hope to relax and take in as much as we can.

We still have sunday and monday night to find lodging for, we're trying to arrange a horseback ride with Carol Jones ( http://www.caroljones.com.ar ), still not sure if she will be offering an overnight trip or if we will be grabbing a hotel, fiance is wanting to splurge and get Los Juncos (www.visitlosjuncos.com
) if we do need a hotel.

Thursday night-
Friday -
Saturday -
Sunday -
Monday -
Tuesday morning -

food options - parrilla de julian

Going home :(
---------------------------------------

Tuesday the 21st we're catching an afternoon flight back to BA and then a 10pm flight to take us home.
Might have to make a layover to guacho100k to pick up our wine so we aren't lugging it around for the entire trip, but hope to pick it out at the start of our trip to make sure we get to our flight out with plenty of time to go.

Dont worry about your GF if she is a veggies only person... almost all restaurants in EZE will be able to accomodate this, as long as she is somewhat flexible and can do with mixed grilled vegetables and salad, then any parrilla will be good for both of you. Please check out the F&B related threads on this forum for updated recommendations, etc.

Aside from steak.... I also suggest you guys get dinner at Pura Tierra (varied menu), and for an italian option, go to SottoVoce.

For wine related queries, please feel free to PM or email me and I will gladly assist you with whatever you need.

A couple of suggestions, Dante has a very good car service (remise) and would be much cheaper than 140 $arg. http://dantesairporttransfers.hazedaze.com/
He also is a decent Tango dancer :) In Iguazu I highly recommend the restaurant at the Iguazu Grand Hotel
http://www.lhw.com/property.aspx?id=566
and the casino is not so bad either if you are up for a go at the tables. Definitly take the boat ride up to the falls, fantastic experience. You do get wet so prepare accordingly. Visiting the Brazilian side is worth the effort if you can manage.

As for Bariloche, if you do need a hotel and want to splurg then the Llao Llao is worth taking a look. http://www.lhw.com/property.aspx?id=349
If nothing else go there for tea. And do take one of the boat rides around the lake.

And have a great honeymoon :)

Thanks for the recommendations, I'll get them moved into my main post when I'm not on my slow slow laptop. Is there a good guide on transportation around BsAs? I imagine I'm stuck with a car from the airport to palermo, but I want to go ahead and oriented with the city and the subte before we go. We aren't opposed to some walking and I'd rather not blow my walking around money entirely on cars. I figure Iguazu will be a little easier, spending most of our time in the park and walking until we find a good dinner at night. Bariloche will likely be the same way, but I feel like I need to do some reading and look at some detailed maps of BsAs before I go and haven't been finding them.

Thanks guys

A couple of things in Bariloche:
1. Mamushka chocolates - excellent european style chocolates
2. the best lamb ever.... at the http://www.laparrilladejulian.com/quienes_somos.htm it is in the downtown area. Tell Don Julian you heard it from a very satisfied customer. He was great.

Here are the details for Pura Tierra (note its open for dinner only):

Pura Tierra
3 de Febrero 1167
Belgrano
Tel. 4899-2007
http://www.puratierra.com.ar/

I cannot say enough good things about this place... and Martin Molteni is without doubt the most overlooked & underrated chef in Argentina.

Here is a link to a very good interactive map of Buenos Aires
http://www.mapabsas.com/?lang=es

And the link for the Buenos Aires subway
http://mapas.metrovias.com.ar/subte/metronet/recorrido.asp
however I find this one a bit easier to understand than the official one
http://www.urbanrail.net/am/buen/buenos-aires.htm

The buses (collectivos) are not the easiest for a new comer to understand. But here is a link for them

Wirelessly posted (Palm TX: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows 98; PalmSource/Palm-D050; Blazer/4.3) 16;320x448)

For visitors, I would not suggest taking the regular colectivos.

Sitting at our B and B right now, recovering from 8 solid hours of walking around BsAs, we're starving now and probably won't make it out to her tango show tonight.

Our B&B is near Bulnes and Cordoba, anyone have an food recommendations near us? We'd still like to catch a tango show/see a tango dance. No chance that we will actually be dancing, a distant relation of my new wife recommended senor tango, but looked much too flashy for us. We're taking in the Argentina/Uruguay match tomorrow, but otherwise we will be here until monday afternoon and will probably see recoleta/san telmo markets, maybe some more museum(saw a very underwhelming eva peron museum today)

Mostly we don't want to end up back here not sure where to go eat again. We might end up with the 15 peso pizza advertised at the chain down the street, going to try to catch our B&B host in a minute for advice while my feet cool off.
