Just flew on SQ to Singapore and back. Day flight from Bombay and Singapore. The good thing is that its cheaper by almost 40% as compared to the night flight. The fare on day is Rs. 18K and night is 28K. Of course economy. That is where the good ends.
I was disappointed with SQ. They are one of the leading airlines of the world, I am surprised how they could let this product run. The aircraft is the old 777. Inflight system is bad and dated. It claimed it was video on demand but it was actually running on a cycle. Surprising as I had seen VOD on SQ more than 7 years back. As it was a day flight they need their latest inflight system.
The worst part was actually the food. Especially vegetarian food. I wonder why airlines cant get it right. The choice was poor for the time of the day on both legs and the quality was below par. This has been a problem with SQ for a while. I wish they worked on these 2 areas.
Having said this the staff as usual is fantastic and very friendly.
