Sixt - Sixt Diamond Card through LHW Leaders Club Unlimited [$2000 worth it?]

Dear FTers,

I have a quick question concerning Sixt Diamond. I have about 15-20 rentals a year (have not made plat as of now though).

Through the website:

http://www.sixt.com/main/common/all/docs/rental/sixt_cards/sixt_diamond_card.php?lang=en

I have seen that you can be comped Sixt Diamond status if you have the LHW Leaders Club Unlimited Card, which is available after two LHW stays for $2000. Basically the leaders club is really not woth any $$ but it might be in order to receive Sixt Diamond (and possibly other comps - experiences?)

So, is the information above still valid? Does LHW Unlimited guarantee the comp to Sixt Diamond? How long is the card valid once applied (if LHW is not renewed!)?

If I book a Smart (in Germany) EBMN.. then I am at least looking at getting a BMW 1 or A3 CPMR, correct? The $2000 or 1330 Eur might be well invested. For example I rent 15 EBMN a year.. the price difference to CPMR is mostly 60-80 Eur depending on length of rental. 15 * 70 = 1050. So, my costs (of LHW unlimited) has almost been covered in my first year of owning the card.

Cheers, asmallworld

Sixt will check, if you still own the LHW Unlimited Card after a certain amount of time. Otherwise every Person interested in holding a Diamond Card would apply for LHW Unlimited, get the Diamond Card and hold it for 6 or 7 jears, without paying the fee to LHW. Sixt would be not very clever, if they let things like this happen. I know they will not.

Okay, seems logical. Is their an inprinted expiry date? I have 07/14 on my Gold card

I don't think it is worth it.
Get the SIXT Platinum card and you will be quite happy with the result.
You can also get Sixt Platinum via Status match of a lot of FFPs.

I don't know if this is such a great deal. I am a LHW Leader's Club member, the card where you don't have to pay anything.

I got my Sixt Platinum status via a status match with Starwood Platinum...

I am an unlimited LHW member.

I have used their Sixt Platinum card and received great savings in Europe on an S Class Mercedes.

Also the vehicle category was not available to the general public, but was made available when i entered my Sixt Platinum Card.

Now, I don't know if the Diamond Card is better or the same than the Platinum Card at Sixt, but Platinum was already a pleasure.

If anyone has the differences between the two SIXT memberships, Diamond VS Platinum, please let me know.

Thanks

Welcome to FT, irrawaddy!

Unfortunately your question has nothing to do with the initial topic... BTW: IDAR is one class above CPMR, which is related to BMW 1 series. You should take into consideration to change your booked class and ask for that car. AFAIK Sixt has 120d and 116 cars.

Well, IMO the 116 is "worst case" ;) They also have 118d, if you are really lucky you get a 123d (these are not regular rental cars, the one I got once had a license number of Hanover, not the usual Munich one). Good luck to you

Thanks a lot Ben! I am sorry for the unrelated post. I meant to submit to "New Sixt 2006 Thread" but I had too many tabs opened :)
