Hertz - Hertz's poor service is "driving" me to National

I usually rent with Hertz, unless National is having a good promotion. When I arrived in JAX last Monday, I was told at the Gold cubicle that I would have a car in "30-60 minutes." There were at least 10 other people (presumably Gold) standing around waiting for their car. When I arrive at an airport, I expect to be able to be on my way. I know flight delays are inevitable in this day & time, but since Hertz knew my flight info & arrival time, I don't think I should have to wait for a vehicle. It reminded me of the Seinfeld episode where Jerry couldn't get a car, and berated the rental agent for "taking" reservations but not "holding" the reservations. Anyway, I walked over to National & got a new Malibu with 700 miles on the odometer, but it irked me that my Hertz Gold & 5-Star status meant nothing when it came to needing a car in Jacksonville, FL. When I arrived back home the National 1-2-Free postcard was in my mailbox, so I quickly changed my next 7-8 rental reservations from Hertz to National.

Happens from time to time, can't always manage such a big fleet perfectly!
