JetBlue TrueBlue - New schedule for fall -- DEN-BOS
Just noticed that the DEN-BOS route is getting a significant schedule change this fall. The BOS-DEN leg is now 440pm-715pm instead of 930pm-1130. The return then leaves DEN at 930AM arriving at 315PM.
It's a big change, and I wonder what the reasoning is. The late flight Friday night coupled with the red-eye return was perfect for weekend getaways. I'm sure it didn't thrill the business travelers though. Still, killing the middle of the day on DEN-BOS doesn't seem biz-oriented either.
If nothing more, perhaps this will better allow irrops on this route to move over to the JFK flights. And that is certainly a step towards solving some of their problems.

It seems to be a pattern.
JFK-SLC used to be 845pm-11:59pm its now 500pm 828pm
SLC-JFK used to be 1145pm-530am its now 920am 338pm

Maybe the heavy reliance on once-daily red-eyes on several long haul routes turned out to be bad for revenue (especially on 'short' long hauls like DEN and SLC that don't allow for a decent night's sleep), and moving some of those singleton flights to daytime is better for the bottom line?

plus, rationale for the 1x redeyes was fleet utilization, but the strategy of the month is that 1x redeyes are expensive, long-haul gas guzzlers

I believed this original schedules has been changed from redeye to operated of daylight flight. Because it was too many people who flying by redeye does not good timer. I think PHX will be remain same exact the origin schedules both daylight & redeye, too.

The new times also help LH/LX get connecting traffic for flights to FRA/MUC/ZRH.

Yes, it will be only for helpful who wants catch the flight out of JFK. Do you think B6 will have interline baggage agreement with LX/LH?

Maybe the schedule change is due to the opening of the T5 terminal (first revenue flight is scheduled to be OCt 01 (read it on a different forum). (Ribbon cutting September 22nd).

LH/LX also both fly out of BOS. I would imagine LH will make use of their investment and later this year or early next year announce some kind of partnership or at least do some promotion of B6.

Should I be there at JFK during grand opening tour on September 22? Will you guys let me know if I can be on the tour around new B6 terminal 5. If I can asked my former manager to has says ok to me. Perhaps that I will go to JFK for few days. What time I can expect to be there at JFK in the new terminal 5?
