I have just about had it with FT now that you've permitted these noisy, obnoxiously loud Dell Canada ads on just about every FT page I pull up. Please advise your advertising department this will drive an Evangelist away from the site, and Dell that I will never, ever buy one of their computers! Not only that, I will bad mouth them to everyone I know...
Too bad I've been badmouthing them for years. There isn't much more I can do ...
However, I have ordered a new "skin" for my company issued Dell. It's a photo of a sow wearing makeup, to convey the not-so-subtle message that putting a decorative skin on a Dell is like putting lipstick on a pig.

while I'm not too low on Dell computers (their laptops are workhorses, My B130 is built like a brick). I do second the recommendation to lose the noisy ads..

Hasn't everyone paid the $12 (US!) for an ad free FT? Best bargain in town, IMHO.

Doesn't Ad Blocker Plus accomplish the same thing?

What?! Shareholder leaving FT again?!
Gadzooks! ;) :D :p
Doesn't Ad Blocker Plus accomplish the same thing?
It surely does!
I have no idea what Dell's obnoxiously noisy ads OP's talking about. Never see one in FT with Adblock Plus enabled in Firefox! :D:D

I have double duty protection. The IF $12 sub and Adblock+.
I remember that it does not seem too long ago that we needed to follow Spiff's formula and fool around with the register in order to block those ads. ;)

The ads have been silenced. As for using a blocker, this should not be a prerequisite to using any website. You teckies may know all about how to dismantle this stuff, but some of us don't like messing around under the hood. If $12 would get rid of moderators, I'd certainly be up to that! Ads are a lot less obnoxious most of the time.
