Hertz - One way rentals LAX > LAS. Questions on upgrades...

Hi

I am planning a rental over a 3 day period this fall from LAX to LAS. Right now, for about a 20$ difference, I can either rent at Mid-size, Full-size, or a Prius.

I am currently booked in a mid-size, which in YYZ usally gets me a C30 or S40 Volvo upgrade, which would be nice. What upgrade should I expect at LAX as Pres. Circle? I want something interesting, that is not an SUV. Worth upgrading to a full-size? If all I am going to get is an SUV, I will just book the Prius, but I would prefer not to...

Thoughts?

I would rent a full size and then hope for a PC upgrade to something like an Avalon, Town Car, Caddy etc. I find upgrades to Prestige cars few and far between. Certainly not as often as you seem to get them in YYZ! My recent experience has been that when I reserve a midsize I often get a midsize, maybe a fullsize, but when I reserve a fullsize I get upgraded more often. YMMV of course.

Thanks for the advice. It is moot though, as when I went to change, the rates had changed (higher), so I am sticking with the mid-sized car.

Upgrades at YYZ are better Friday eve. at T1, and Sat morn. at T3... other times, not so nice!
