Iwas reading here (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum1/HTML/009112.html) about companies buying miles, and it got me to thinking. About a year ago, I was staying long term at a very nice place. I paid with my DC card, so I got some points, but they had no mileage deal with any airline (it was an independent chain).
I had intended to ask them if they could work a deal with an airline to provide miles. I would be willing to pay part of the cost, assuming it was in the 1-2 cents/mile range. I left before I ever got the chance to do anything.
Does anyone know if this would have worked, or is it strictly a deal negotiated at the corporate level with millions of miles guaranteed and stuff like that. This was before I discovered Flyertalk, or I would have tried to jump on it right away. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
