I have to drop a car off for my parents in Sterling, VA this Friday and am flying back IAD-JFK-ROC ... I've never flown out of IAD before so I have a couple questions.

1) I'm on the last flight of the night ... 7:35pm to JFK ... what kind of wait would I be looking at for security? The terminal map looks like only one security checkpoint for everyone ... would 2.5 hours be enough or should I plan on more?

2) How much does a daypass for the Wi-Fi cost? Couldnt find anything about this on the IAD website.

3) Weird question I know (my screen name explains it) ... do the terminal shops sell Pepsi or Coke?

At that time of the night, especially, 2.5 might be a bit of overkill. Most airlines recommend 75-90 minutes prior to departure for domestic flights, and at IAD specifically, most airlines cut off at 45 minutes prior due to midfield departures. While IAD does have one "area" for checkpoint processing, it's huge (unlike back in the day where they had two smaller areas).

I wasn't sure either, so I did a quick Google search. Apparently, IAD's wi-fi is provided by Boingo (who provides it in many airports). They charge $7.95/day. You can go to http://www.boingo.com for more info.

Both! :D (Although I don't really look for Pepsi since I'm a Coke drinker)

One note: After going through TSA security, be sure to take the shuttle going to the B60s-70s gates. Those shuttles are immediately past the security checkpoint on the Departure/Ticketing Level.

And the Five Guys concession (a few steps away from the JetBlue gate area) has excellent hamburgers and great Cajun fries.

I strongly second the Five Guys recommendation ^

There's a new Dulles Diamond security lane on the baggage claim level for frequent flyers traveling alone with no checked luggage. It's a free service, it's not a paid thing like the Clear program. If you go to mwaa.com they've got more info on it, the twice a month rule you might see listed there is proving to be tough to enforce, just look like you know what you're doing. The main terminal line usually thins out after the 5pm departure bank, but it's good to leave a little extra time because there are still a lot of TATL widebodies going out 7-8.

If you don't mind walking it can still be faster, because there can be a good 10 min wait between shuttles.
