Asiana Club - Is OZ award bucket blacked-out during peak?

Hi all,

I found some discrepancy of OZ metal award availability between OZ website and NH tool-OZ metal seems to be all blacked out during peak season in NH tool, even they are availability on OZ website.

Can't you really book on OZ metal with other carrier's *A award during OZ peak period? Could anybody please look at the OZ221(JFK-ICN) I bucket with KVS tool during Jun 2009?

During peak seasons, OZ FF members can redeem for award seats but it costs twice as much than non-peak season. Naturally, OZ blocks *A awards on their flights for this purpose (very similar to what SQ is doing for those flights with new F and C and A380 flights).

Check with the OZ website for OZ's award peak seasons (depends on where your departure location is).

Well, I know; My wife is Diamond so immune to peak season surcharge but *A blackout hurts.. Thanks though.

Just for clarification; peak surcharge is 50%, not 100%. :)

But she will be subject to the 50% surcharge once the grace period for Diamond members is over after the recent rule change.
