On the 4 trips I'd like to use B6 for which i have been tracking (comparing apples to apples in terms of the mix of nonstops and connections):
UA 319 vs B6 345
DL 139 vs B6 145
CO 499 vs B6 520
DL 90 vs B6 95
1047 vs 1105 ....and DL , CO, and UA haven't even announced "sales" yet.

Some of these are OK, but they don't seem to be sale fares so much as reminders of the lowest fares generally offered in the markets.
I wonder if the $39 BOS-SJC in the list is a typo/error or actually available... THAT would be a sale!

Yeah, there seems to be a lot of strange fares....it looks like they switched the Boston and Long Beach listing for the last few....BOS-IAD for $169 but LGB-IAD for $59?
They should really proof these before sending them out....

Your analysis on 4 of your upcoming trips comes to a mere $58 difference in air fares between JetBlue and the other guys. We already know that JetBlue fares tend to be a higher than other airlines sometimes, because the value is far greater (legroom, IFE, snacks, etc.), but the LOW fares I refer to is compared to the regular JetBlue fares for that period. This is also a silly comparison because you do not consider the extra fees at say UA on the first flight you mention. If you choose UA and happen to check just one bag, suddenly UA becomes $4 more than B6! And when DL, CO, UA do announce those "sales" keep in mind that they will not honor the lower fare without a rebooking fee which often eats up the fare difference adjustment.

UA at least has a fairly painless re-fare policy. If the fare drops, you file a claim, and they issue a voucher for the difference. Been done many times, by myself and plenty of other FTers.

Wow. That really is good kool-aid.
1. I don't consider the legroom , IFE, snacks of "far greater value to me". Just isn't an issue. The legroom isn't something that kills me, I avoid the unhealthy snacks, bring my own food on transcons, and I have a laptop and ipod with tons of IFE options. I don't know what the "etc." might be.
2. Its fine if a sale is truly in comparison to the previously offered airfares by B6, but who cares? I compare B6 to other airlines, and thats what matters.
3. I wouldn't be checking a bag on my UA comparison. Its a 3 night trip. Already considered that, and also kept that in mind when I chose what airline I'd use for the other trips. (CO and DL allow one)
4. Its nice B6 will honor the lower fare as a credit, but I'd rather not play games. When I see a fare I know is good, I will book. I will wait it out, and if B6 doesn't compete, its time to look elsewhere. I only need 8 points toward my next TrueBlue ticket, so I really am looking for value.
