Travel Technology - iPhone users: what's your email/calendar/contact setup?

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8100/4.2.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/107 UP.Link/6.5.1.0.0)

So I'll be receiving my iPhone in the mail shortly and my thoughts have turned to how to best manage my email with it (I will be retiring my blackberry).

At the moment I have an IMAP email account setup with an ISP using my own domain, which I want to keep.

I have this setup to push to my blackberry using my cell company's server.

My ISP is cheap and decent except their spam blocking is non existent. Currently I pay nothing for international roaming push mail so its been only an annoyance but under the iPhone plan it'll cost me.

I have another e-mail account under the same domain set up with Google Apps and the spam blocking is great but there is no push capability (yet).

My ISP will also turn my IMAP account into an Exchange account but for another $7 a month where Google Apps is $50 a year.

I'm also not sure if GA allows for offline reading...

Then there is the issue of calendars and contacts... My head spins.

Is there any holy grail of push email with great spam blocking, contacts and calendars synced online with remote access along with offline access?

Any help appreciated.

Google Apps is free unless you want the more professional level.

I have my email sent through Google's servers using Google Apps. I love it. I like being able to access email from anywhere on any computer and, since they added IMAP, having the same messages in the same places on any computer. As for contacts and calendar. I just keep it on my MBP in iCal and Address Book. I end up attaching my phone to my computer several times a day to keep it fully charged and it syncs then so I have found that while it might be nice to have an exchange server/ Mobile Me account for a coolness factor, it is certainly not a necessity.

I have two POP and one IMAP email accounts.

I'm waiting for SyncML to be available to access my corporate calendar. Until then, I just use the Google calender.

I use my ISP's IMAP email, along with Gmail IMAP for my Gmail account. It's really nice having the same stuff on your computer and phone!

For calendar and contacts, I use iCal and Address Book on my MBP. Syncing once or twice a day, everything is up to date. MobileMe would be nice, but realistically, it's more of a gimmick.

Now that Virgin Mobile is offering the iPhone 3G for A$70 including 1Gb of data (https://www.virginmobile.com.au/shop/p-396-apple-iphone-8-gb-blk.aspx), I'm wondering if we can set up 2 email accounts (this is for Mrs willyroo) - I don't want an iPhone (http://www.nokia.com.au/link?cid=PLAIN_TEXT_1069088) :):

An MS Exchange-based email account with push email; and
A GMail based account with "pull" email

My trusty Nokia E61 - 2 years old and hasn't missed a beat - can do this no problem.

I know GMail mobile works nicely with the iPhone (http://www.google.com/mobile/apple/), however I'm wondering if anyone on FT is using an iPhone with corporate (ie Exchange 2007 based) email?

Although the Nokia E66 (http://www.nokia.com.au/link?cid=PLAIN_TEXT_1069102) appeals to her with its "business and personal home screen modes"...

I believe this is fine. I think the only restriction is that you can not have more than one exchange client set up.
