JetBlue TrueBlue - LGB Distressed Traveler Hotel Voucher

Yesterday, Amtrak had a major disruption to the Northeast Corridor Line which closed both Amtrak and NJ Transit Service to NY, and it got me to thinking. I have a flight from JFK-SLC on Sep 4 (5pm) to go to a confrence in the nearby mountains, if I were to miss my JFK-SLC flight the best way for me to get to the confrence ontime would be to take the JFK-LGB 6pm departure, overnight in LGB and take the 7am LGB-SLC flight. Does Jetblue offer a distressed traveler hotel discount voucher in LGB? If so what hotel would it be and what might the rate be?

Unfortunately, if you've miss the flight for any reason outside of JetBlue's control, you're not likely to get much in the way of help.
If you choose to route yourself through LGB having missed the SLC flight, you'll be on your own as far as overnight lodging in LGB. Area hotels are usually the ones to offer you distressed passenger rates; you'd need to contact them directly if that's the case.
My best advice would be to secure some kind of backup to get to JFK for the SLC flight, if you think Amtrak might fail you.
Best of luck!

Planning an alternate and leaving plenty of time is a good idea. But Jetblue won't even let me standby for the JFK-LGB-SLC connection? If so, I think that policy is a bit disappointing, as standby doesn't cost them any extra then if I had been on my original flight.

Oh, no, I mean if you miss the original direct flight, you can definitely ask any customer service rep to put you standby on the JFK-LGB-SLC routing for no charge. What I meant was, that's about as much help as you can expect.
